Well! What will we see next at the Dickson Hall?

A wee bit o’ culture came to town on Saturday night. Opera buffs are scarce on the ground in the Howe but last night there was a full house to get a taster of the real thing.

Melanie Gowie, fresh from appearing on the London stage in Phantom of the Opera and before starting a post graduate degree at the Glasgow Conservatory, had heard about the Hall and its excellent acoustics. She offered to give a concert, and accompanied by Eleanor Gallagher on piano and with assistance from Gina Gallagher, she took Laurencekirk by storm.

Her repertoire included items by a wide range of composers and from as early as the 1700s right up to the present day.
There was a unanimous conclusion that we had witnessed a true professional at work, and her new fans will be pleased to hear that a follow-up event is being planned.

Watch the events calendar to see what is on next at The Dickson Hall.
