From the queue at the door it was sure to be a good night (see photos). The first 30 people received a goody bag with donations from local businesses including Quinneys Antiques, MandMade, Knittykittybangbang, Infinity Designs, Ann Reid Avon representative, Evelyn Mitchell Oriflame representative, Fancy That, Ivy Jewellery and a whopping £500 worth of money off vouchers from Codex Photography, who also took professional photos of the event at no charge.
The evening was Laurencekirk’s first charity “swishing” event – with bag after bag of clothes being donated – everything from Primark vests to designer vintage evening wear. Carolyn Anderson Shepherd, the organiser, took almost a whole car’s worth of clothes home with her, some of which have been donated to the Laurencekirk Red Cross Shop and others have been kept to sell on in aid of MND Scotland.
Carolyn says, “I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for coming and supporting not only the charity, but also the stallholders who are all small businesses who put in a huge amount of work to make the event a success. I would also particularly like to thank Zibby and Kasia of Codex Photography who have given so generously of their time and products, and the Dickson Memorial Hall for having us!”
Another event is being organised for Luthermuir in October and details will be issued in due course.
