Aberdeenshire Council are hosting a Community Consultation Evening in the new Mearns Community Campus to discuss a new and exciting initiative ‘Community Sports Hubs’ which brings Sport and the wider community together. Aberdeenshire already has some very successful Community Sports Hubs in place and with the fantastic new developments that have taken place in Laurencekirk, it provides an ideal opportunity to create something really beneficial and tailored to the local community.

The idea of the evening is to explain the concept in some more detail, hear the ideas and thoughts of the community, understand what the needs of the community are and to look at the benefits and opportunities a Community Sports Hub can bring to the area.

The hubs are structured and developed through the needs and aspirations of the community and aim to:

– Grow participation

– Engage the local community

– Promote community leadership

– Offer a range of sporting opportunities

– Bring all appropriate (key) partners/ groups/people together

Can you please RSVP to express your interest by Friday 21st November to:  andrew.watson@aberdeenshire.gov.uk or alternatively contact me via telephone (07585965097). Refreshments will be provided.

Please tell anyone you think may be interested in this exciting project. If you have any further questions in the meantime please do not hesitate in contacting me.
