The garden group of Mearns and Coastal Healthy Living Network is an active social group for older people living in the community (over 60’s).

The group have been maintaining the whisky barrel planters at Laurencekirk train station under First Scotrail’s “Adopt a train station” scheme.

On 24 June at 1.30pm, the group are meeting at the train station to create and plant their summer displays for the planters. With over a dozen planters, the group are keen to recruit some new members to help – no gardening experience necessary!

The group also provide garden maintenance for older people, and are currently looking to hire gardeners and grass cutters to carry out the service.
