Howe o’ the Mearns Heritage Club enjoyed their final trip of the summer to Hallgreen Castle in Inverbervie.
Mr and Mrs Rob Ferguson welcomed them to the castle and guided them through their home which they rescued from its abandoned state fifteen years ago. Buying a derelict castle is not the most popular of challenges but one which this family are tackling with real enthusiasm.
The Club’s next meeting on 17th September will hear about the medieval manor house, the remains of which were found on the site of the new Mearns Academy.
