The winter syllabus of the Howe o’ the Mearns Heritage Trust begins on Wednesday 15th October with an illustrated talk on the history of the schools of the Mearns. This will include the story of Mearns Academy and its evolution from a three roomed school in the 1860s to the present Campus.

New members are always welcome to join the group, which has been meeting monthly since 1995 (or thereabouts). A wide range of subjects are covered, and in the summer the group arrange field trips around the area.

The group meets at the Burgh Buildings (old library) in Johnston Street at 7.30pm on the third Wednesday of the month.
