The forecast is looking good for the 2014 Laurencekirk Bonfire Night and Fireworks display, to be held this Saturday, 8th November at Muir of Blackiemuir farm.

The organising and fundraising for the night has once again been carried out by the members of Laurencekirk Business Club, following the huge success of last year’s event which saw double the expected turnout. It was the first community Bonfire night for almost 20 years.

The fireworks are being set up by Andy and Mark of Fireworx Scotland, who were responsible for last year’s superb display.

As well as the bonfire and fireworks, there will be lots of other entertainment, including music from Mearns FM and the Howe o’ the Mearns Pipe Band. There will be also be a large hot food van, a chance to see the local fire engine up close, and more.

The event starts at 6.30pm with the lighting of the bonfire and burning of the guy, and the firework display will start at 7.15pm.

To get there, go down to the bottom of Blackiemur Avenue (the Fettercairn road) and then on a little bit further to reach the field. You can’t miss it!
