Despite there being no Laurencekirk Gala this year, the Club decided to hold their annual Gala event anyway on Sunday 17th July, with all the proceeds of the day being donated to The Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Stracathro Hospital. There were 33 entries in the singles knockout competition, and the final was contested by two Laurencekirk bowlers, Bill Russell and Dave Gordon. After 6 ends the score was locked at 4 shots all, but Bill Russell prevailed by scoring an impressive 3 shots on the last end.
Marylen and Elaine Easton presented a cheque for £330 to The Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Stracathro Hospital on behalf of the Club.
