Laurencekirk Development Trust (LDT) have been successful in their bid to receive funding for a major community event. The event, called a charrette, will see a team of specialist consultants come into Laurencekirk to help create a community plan and vision for the town’s future.

Two family activity days will be held during the charrette, where all local residents can come and give their opinions and ideas on how Laurencekirk can develop, as its population grows. These open days will be taking place (provisionally) on Sunday 28th February and Sunday 13th March. The dates will be confirmed soon.

The consultants will also be talking with community groups, the council and local agencies. LDT, who are keen to secure new sites for business and retail development, have produced a short survey for business owners which will be launched in the next few days.

A campaign to make everyone aware of what’s happening and how we can all be involved will be ongoing during the charrette, so stay tuned!
